Going to Bath from London and end in Heathrow Airport

I have an extra day in England so I wanted to go to Bath before I fly out of Heathrow. I was thinking about these options:

Option One:
Go to Bath for a day trip, come back to London and stay the night. Go to Heathrow the next day.

Option Two:
Leave London early in the morning for Bath, stay the night in Bath, and go to Heathrow the next day.

Option Three (I don't know):
Leave luggage someplace (if there are lockers/storage in the station) in London, go to Bath for a day, go back to London to pick up luggage, then head off to Heathrow all on the same day. Stay in a hotel near Heathrow.

If there is another way to do all of this, that would be great!
Also, what transportation is the best for London to Bath and Heathrow?

Other information:
All of this is happening on weekdays
Staying in YHA Central London and can extend my stay if needed
Airplane leaves Heathrow at 1:15 PM for the US with Delta/Virgin Atlantic, so I think it's Terminal 3

I would take option one. It's an easy day trip by train from Paddington station.

You need to be at Heathrow at 10.15 latest, so I wouldn't want the stress of trying to get there from Bath early in the morning.

As much as I don't suggest Bath as a day trip (too much to see in my opinion), in your situation, I'd agree that Option 1 makes the most sense.

I don't know anything about Bath, but I'd strike option 2 immediately. I'd leave nothing to chance on the day you're scheduled to take a transatlantic flight. You want to leave for Heathrow from a London location and leave yourself plenty of time.

The day trip makes a lot of sense. It avoids the hassle of relocating. BUT, if you decide to stay in Bath, there is a direct bus, National Express which goes from Bath to Heathrow, direct, nonstop, every 30 minutes. We did this at the end of a trip, and it worked great. Do get your ticket in advance. Our bus had no empty seats.

Hey everyone!

Thank you for all your replies. I finally have internet!
I think I'll just do option one. Seems the most convenient :)
