Going from Heathrow Terminal 5 to Central London?

I just found out I'll be arriving at T-5, which is pretty far from the airport center. I was planning to take the Tube on Piccadilly line into Central London, but I'm not sure it's possible to do that directly from T-5. Rick's book and other websites suggest you need to take a free bus to T-1/2/3, but according to Google Maps there is a Tube station with several lines, including Piccadily, right there on T-5.

Is this right?

Thanks

Yes, the Piccadilly line does got to terminal 5.
As you can see from the official tube map here: http://content.tfl.gov.uk/standard-tube-map.pdf trains go to eiter terminal 4 or terminal 5. Not relevant for getting from Heathrow, but when you return you need to get on the correct train.
The map here: http://www.heathrow.com/file_source/Heathrow/Static/GIF/Transport_and_Directions/LHR_Train_Map.gif shows all the rail connections to Heathrow.
Any and all questions about public transport in London are answered on the "Transport for London" site here: https://tfl.gov.uk/

Yes there is a station on the Piccadily Line at Terminal 5, as well as the Heathrow Express. Both have been there since the terminal opened.

I don't know whether you have an older guidebook, but the 2016 editions that I'm looking at have it described correctly, with more focus on traveling toward the airport, but starting with the phrase, "The Tube takes you from any Heathrow Terminal to downtown London in 50-60 minutes on the Picadilly line."

You can go on the Piccadilly line from Terminal 5 to Kings Cross, takes just under one hour, direct. Three lines serve Kings Cross.
