Gluten Free Tea - The Orangery

We have been planning on tea at The Orangery. I realize they just have opened but I thought they had gluten free items.

Has anyone GF/Celiac had tea there? What about Fortnum& Mason? Those two are our top choices. As long as there are a couple of gluten free items, we would be good.

Also any other gluten free teas that you can recommend also good for celiac person.

Thank you so much
This is for Sunday April 21st. We are trying to go a little further out for tea and then onto Harry Potter to stay out of the race traffic.

Thank you

which Orangery? Which town, house, or city? It isn't an uncommon name - a Victorian feature on stately homes where citrus was kept in the winter.

If I knew which one you meant I may be able to help with the research

I did email them. They said no GF but it was recommended as GF so I was just checking.
Might go back to trying Fortnum&Mason.
Thank you

I made another suggestion on your thread about the train to Windsor and that is to consider having afternoon tea in Windsor. The Castle Hotel lists a GF tea. It is right near the train station and right across from the castle.

I'm sorry the Orangery doesn't do a GF tea. And so odd to me as I'd have guessed there were a lot more folks who are GF than vegan and they do have that specific vegan menu.

We enjoyed afternoon tea at The Wolseley last summer, and they will provide a gluten-free tea if they are notified in advance. I believe there's a space for this online when you book.

I will offer another shout out for The Wolseley. We went several years ago and reserved a diabetic suited tea menu. They misplaced our reservation so could not fully accommodate what would normally be provided. However, what they did serve was still quite lovely and to our surprise they made the entire tea for two complementary.

Interesting. I was trying to figure out how tea would have gluten in it but read that a lot of teas have barley/malt mixture in them. I also read that if you look for something that is “pure” such as green, black or white teas that they are naturally gluten free.

Afternoon tea is a whole meal of cakes and sandwiches served with a pot of tea so it is a complete gluten fest! Many places offer a gluten free version.
