We are two couples traveling to Great Britain in August/September. We arrive in Glasgow at approximately 8am. What is the best way to get to Edinburgh (Haymarket) directly from Glasgow Airport?
We are both celebrating 48 years of marriage so be kind. We are fit and able but.....

Bus from the airport goes to Glasgow Queen Street station every 10 mins. Train to Edinburgh from there every 30 min. How to get to Haymarket in Edinburgh I'm not sure. If you do as Nigel suggested and post this in the Scotland forum you'll probably get someone from Edinburgh that will know the details, although they'll probably see it here also.

Trains from Glasgow Queen Street stop at Haymarket before the final stop at Edinburgh Waverley . ( Haymarket is the penultimate stop . )

There's currently no rail service from Glasgow airport at all. The bus runs to Queen Street station in central Glasgow, which has very frequent trains to Edinburgh.

There is also the option of taking the bus from the airport to the end of its journey at Buchanan Bus Station then taking a coach to Edinburgh Haymarket from there.
