Getting to LCY

From the Paddington-Kensington area what suggestions do you for getting to LCY for a Noonish flight to Shannon Ireland ( on a Friday next June)

Do you recommend some other area of London to a better choice? Will be in London for a few days. Will arrive from Paris via Eurostar earlier in the week. 1st trip to London so will be doing the 'typical tourist' routine

Thank you

I recommend that you plot all the sights you want to see on map of London and then find out which area is more central for YOU.

To get to LCY (London City Airport) I recommend https://www.londoncityairport.com/getting-here, but my first choice would be the Docklands Light Railway (DLR).

I agree with Emma. I usually stay in Earl's Court and have flown in and out of LCY numerous times. It is not difficult. Tube to DLR. The station is right at the entrance to LCY.

One reminder, there are no turnstiles at the LCY DLR station do you must go to a machine on the side to tap out with your Oyster card. I forgot once and got charged maximum price for the day.

There are a number of budget / medium category hotels in Docklands which can be very cheap outside of major events at ExCel, O2 etc. However, they are very soulless places to stay in to travel elsewhere.
