Getting to Bath from the Bristol Airport

My wife and I will be visiting England and Scotland this fall and I'm working on our itinerary. I'm trying to fit in a quick visit to Bath the day before we have to return to the U.S. I'm looking for advice on getting from Bristol Airport into Bath, as well as getting from Bath to Heathrow. My tentative plan is this: Edinburgh on Friday night, fly to Bristol on Saturday morning, visit Bath and spend Saturday night there, travel to London Heathrow Sunday morning for our 4 pm flight to Newark. Thanks for your help!

There are frequent bus services between Bristol Airport and Bath - details at https://www.airdecker.com/

To get from Bath to Heathrow Airport, you have two main choices. The first is to take a National Express coach directly - book at www.nationalexpress.com, making sure you select a trip with zero changes. Alternatively, you can get the train from Bath to Reading followed by a bus from there to the airport (quicker than going via central London) - book the train at www.gwr.com and the bus at www.railair.com

We recently went from Bath to the Bristol Airport and used a private car service. The cost was very reasonable for two people and the service was excellent. Perhaps not as inexpensive as the train or bus, but a whole lot more convenient and a lot less stress. On the trip in the other direction, one has to take a taxi from the airport to the train station in Bristol, then the train to Bath, and then a taxi to the hotel. The same car service is also available for trips from Bath to Heathrow. The company's website is www.chauffertravel.co.uk and the email address is [email protected] . You might want to check out the site, see what you think, and perhaps send an email and get a quote.
