Getting from Heathrow to Premier Inn London Bank Tower

Hi,
Can anyone tell me the best way by tube from Heathrow to get to this hotel? Which stop do I get off and once I am off how to walk to this hotel...thanks so much.

From Heathrow take the Underground to Hammersmith.

At Hammersmith change to the District Line and take an eastbound Tube to Monument.

Get off at Monument and walk to the hotel. (4 mins according to Google maps)

First question: What is the nearest tube station to this hotel? This should be basic information on the hotel website, which you would need to know if you are staying at any hotel in a big city.

The hotel's website is here: https://www.premierinn.com/gb/en/hotels/england/greater-london/london/london-bank-tower.html
This shows it as being on the north bank of the Thames, in the City, between Monument and Tower Hill tube stations.

The tube map is here: http://content.tfl.gov.uk/standard-tube-map.pdf

  • From Heathrow (whichever terminal, different terminals have different stations), take the Piccadilly Line (dark blue) to Hammersmith
  • At Hammersmith, do a cross-platform change to the District Line (green). Make sure the train is going to Upminster.
  • Get off at Monument or Tower Hill

Hammersmith is a good place to change, as both lines are side-by-side.

Dark blue Piccadilly line on the left, green district line on the right.

Use your favourite map website to work out where to walk after exiting the station. Or look at the map on abovementioned hotel website.

And when you are at the Hammersmith station get the pocket size tube map that is usually on the counter by the manned ticket window.

Good reference to have while in London.

Use the tfl.gov.uk to help plot your tube and bus routes.

Lastly to give you the exact route and view of your walk from the tube station to the Premiere Inn use Google Satellite street view. Drop the little man in front of the station. Best travel tool ever invented.

I make mental notes about what stores, churches, parks, etc I’ll be walking by to let me know I’m heading the right way.

Enjoy your visit.

If you will have data when you are in London, download the CityMapper app. It will tell you how to get anywhere, down to telling you whether to board the Tube at the front, middle or back to be best positioned for your next move, which exit to take from the station, etc.

It makes things so easy!

Might have not remembered correctly but thought I found those pocket tube maps on the counter beneath the clock.

Then again I can barely remember yesterday.

Safe travels

Emma — yes, I use it as a local here in Paris, and as a tourist when I’m visiting in another city covered by the app (most definitely including London)!

TFL -- Transport for London -- website will be useful every day to plan activities. Good idea to practice now with the route from airport to hotel.
Google Maps provides a similar service, useful for comparisons to TFL.
