Getting a Covid test

We are flying back to the U.S. from Manchester England. We need a Covid test to get back to the U.S. Can we get one at the airport or any suggestions?

Where would be the best place to get a test from Mayfair to Heathrow?
Flying back to the USA, is only a rapid Antigen test needed?
Thanks

If you can, I'd get the test the day before you fly, so you have time to plan if you happen to test positive. You should also decide in advance what to do if only one of you tests positive - will you both stay, or will the person with a negative test fly home?

You want the Antigen Lateral Flow test.

We just did it last week -- it's in Terminal 2 -- piece of cake. We booked a time in advance, but they took us right away when we arrived two hours early.

We did ours at the ExpressTest at Victoria Station (they have several locations throughout the UK, including Manchester). We booked it online ahead of time, and were in and out in about 10 minutes. We got our results via email within a half hour.

Just returned from Best of Southern England tour. We used a company called DAM Health for covid tests the day before our flight back to US. website is https://dam-health.com . About half price if you booked ahead. I paid 24 pounds approx. Results within 2 hours. Upload certificate to your airline website. Timed appointments and staff were efficient and courteous.
