General Question - London Walks tours

For those who've taken the London Walks tours (any of them), are they crowded or do they limit numbers of people? I'm trying to take advantage of the Walks, and want to know if I need to get my group in place early to get on the tours. Thanks.

I don't think they limit the number of people. I went on two walks and they both had around 12 people. I highly recommend them, so much fun and learned so much.

I did a walk with 3 people and a group with 20+ people. I think the only walk that might have enormous numbers would be the Jack the Ripper walk, and they will split the group of its too big.

They don't set limits. Numbers depends on the tour, time of year etc. Some tours I've taken have had as few as 5/6. Some more than 30. But mostly somewhere in the middle. Some tours they know are popular and they split the group up into two or even three - eg the Harry Potter tours are nuts.

Best to email them and ask how many they usually have on a specific tour, if this an issue.

OR ask them to set up a tour/tours just for your group - you don't say how many there are of you, this may be economical - that way you could tailor it to work for you.

The only ones they have to set limits for, as far as I know, are the ones that go out of town, if they've rented a bus.

For example, I went on the Cotswolds walk a couple of years ago. It leaves from Paddington station and they had to turn some ppl away because they had more people than would fit in the bus that was meeting us upon our arrival out in the country.
