Gatwick to Bath and then Bath to Heathrow

I have tried to make reservation to take the GWR train from Gatwick to Bath and then 4 days later to go from Bath to Heathrow. I have encountered a problem and now have some questions I would really like some help with.

For some reason their computer has snarled this up. I have a charge on my credit card but no email receipt and nothing shows on "my journeys" when logged into my account on their website. Could this have anything to do with the data blackmail several European countries experienced recently?

Now I'm wondering if the train is the best way to do this. We are arriving from Portugal to Gatwick and then leaving from Heathrow to return to the US.

Thank you!

You could have flown direct from Faro or Lisbon to Bristol airport - which has a direct bus link to Bath. www.skyscanner.net

If you are landing at Gatwick, take the direct GWR train to Reading where you change for another train to Bath. Other people are reporting problems with the GWR website. Have you got a train ticket booking number? If you have a booking number - preferably print it off. As money has been debited, it would seem to suggest that you GWR ticket order has gone through. The booking number would be your proof.

We took the National Express bus from Bath directly to Heathrow Terminal 2/3, so as not to have to take the train back into London and then another back to Heathrow. Just an option. Cost was about £20 pp. Tickets bought online from US. Give yourself plenty of extra time.

There only train to Heathrow is the Heathrow Express from Paddington in London. Your best bet is to take the bus mentioned by another poster from Bath to Heathrow.

... and if anting to travel by train, it is quicker (depending on terminal) and cheaper to go via Reading on the coach and thence by train. If the coach were more frequent there wouldn't really be much competition.
