Gatwick Express and 2-4-1 Discount

Will be in London September for 10 days arriving at Gatwick. Will be taking the Gatwick Express and plan on pre-booking 2 return trips via the internet (for the additional discounts) and printing the E-tickets before arrival. Can these tickets be used for the 2-4-1 discounts at London sights? If so, is there anything we need to be aware of? If not, we will also be purchasing 7 day travel cards. Had planned on loading these on an Oyster card. Can 7-day cards purchased at Rail station offices (and not the tube stations) be loaded to an oyster card or would they need to be kept seperate. Thanks in advance for any help and advice.

Return tickets from Gatwick normally qualify - you will have to show both legs. They have to have the National Rail logo on them so some mobile and in-flight tickets are not included.

Travel passes/cards loaded on Oyster do NOT work for the 2-4-1 discounts. You must purchase a paper travel card from a National Rail office. It must have the National Rail logo on it. Your round trip tickets for the Gatwick Express may work for the 2-4-1, I'm not certain. Nigel is the expert (he lives near London and works for one of the rail companies).

If you bring along a passport size photo (we photocopied ours), you can purchase your 7 day travel card for the 2-4-1 right at Gatwick.
