Frome or Trowbridge accommodations for Bath area interests - Premier Inn? Moonraker Hotel?

Looking for inexpensive (up to 125 pounds?) accommodation near Bath for Bath, Wells, Glastonbury, Salisbury, Stonehenge, Avebury, possibly Sherborne, etc).

Primarily looking at the Frome and Trowbridge Premier Inns. Have looked at Wells PI which is cheaper but appears to take longer by public transit to Bath. We'll use a car for other locations.

Moonraker Hotel in Bradford is appealing with a good cancellation policy. Is anyone familiar with this hotel?

Would Frome or Trowbridge be a better choice in terms of ease in getting to Bath by public transit? There looks to be about a 10 minute difference timewise. Availability of taxi or uber?

For those who know the 2 towns, which town would you choose?

Any other accommodation recommendations for this area, even outside the towns?
Thanks.

Frome is way nicer than Trowbridge. I wouldn’t recommend Trowbridge for a tourist visit. I have been to the Moonraker for a wedding a number of years ago so couldn’t say what it’s like now. I don’t remember the location being very inspiring. It’s in Trowbridge although I seem to recall them calling it Bradford on Avon which will tell you much people don’t want to be in Trowbridge!

There are regular buses from Frome to Bath but it’s quite a long way. I have a friend in Frome and we often meet in Bath for a drink as it’s in between our homes. I think it’s takes her about 45 mins to get there by bus (not in rush hour when it will be a lot longer) but at the moment there’s a road closure causing chaos. I don’t when you’re travelling so hopefully that will be resolved.

If you have a car you can stay anywhere and drive to a train station for your day trip to Bath, or use a Bath park and ride, which widens accommodation choices.
