Hi! I am trying to order a digital Friends and Family Railcard through the railcard-uk website. It seems that it won't let me put in a US billing address, keeps saying it's an "invalid postal code", which results in me not being able to proceed. Does anyone know what to do, or do I need to get this Railcard in the UK when we arrive? I would like to order some advance tickets to save money.
Thank you!
You don't need to have the railcard to buy advance tickets at the railcard price - you just need to have the railcard by the time you use the tickets. If you know you plan to get the railcard, go ahead and buy the tickets now.
I can't help you on the best way to get the railcard itself (never having used one myself) but I'm sure someone else here can.
- Buy your tickets online indicating you have a railcard
- Buy the railcard at a station before you travel
Last year when I purchased our tickets I marked that I had a railcard went through so easy. Then the first station we bought the railcard we needed, it was fast and easy. I was never asked to see the railcard when the conductor checked our tickets, but I’m sure at times you are asked to see it.
Thank you!! Do I need to have passport photos when I buy the Railcard at the station?
We needed photos last year for our two together railcard, I’m not sure if you will or not.
You don't need photos for a Family and Friends Railcard
