Would like suggestion of things to see and do in Fordingbridge and surrounding area....will have a car.
Thanks,

It's a very long time since I lived and worked in the Fordingbridge area, but the most obvious local sights are Salisbury Cathedral and, north of there, Old Sarum and Stonehenge. Winchester and Bath are within easy driving distance (use the Park & Ride at Bath), while Christchurch on the south coast is very pleasant. Even Portsmouth is quite close if you are interested in naval matters, while Breamore and Wilton House are close if you like old houses.
North-west of Fordingbridge are some exceptionally attractive villages like Rockbourne, Martin, Whitsbury, Damerham and Cranborne. That whole area is full of ancient earthworks, many of which you can drive past without really noticing. The New Forest is, of course, right on your doorstep, and you will soon get used to dodging the ponies and other animals on the unfenced roads.
Beyond Salisbury and Stonehenge, many of the attractions in this area are fairly low key, and although they may be busy you will not feel you are on some tourist circuit.
