Flight in and out of MANCHESTER with my adult son he’s 34, am 71 n September. We had hoped to spend time in Skye before heading to Lakes. My husband and I have used Mckinlay Kidd group for 3 different train guide trips for the independent traveler, they are great. It seems lit will be very long travel days to get to and from to check into our booked accommodation in the Lakes. We had hoped to use trains and private drivers vs renting a car. My son is willing to drive but has never driven on opposite side of road.
My son has been to Edinburgh and London. Wanted to experience rugged beauty of Scotland,
One suggestion was Mull, after Skye not as appealing. Any comments on same?
Had considered Wales but again wonder if timing will be too tight and long days for travel areas that folks loved and would fit our timeline?
Are there areas in England - that are easier travel towards Lakes but would be scenic but have options for outdoor activities in nature but also character , history for me I’m more a 3-5 miler vs my son.
