So, I've just gone online to see about flights to London in September. I looked at United first since we have miles enough for one ticket. Prices seem to be pretty high right now. I also looked at American and Virgin Atlantic. Is anyone finding good deals for September? If yes, where?
Little early for deals. Just note prices, pick what seems to be a "good" price, if you see it, grab it, don't look back. Maybe get nervous if you get to 10 to 12 weeks out, and then raise your target price.
We got pretty good fares from Oakland to Gatwick on British Air. For June. They are competing with Norwegian out of Oakland. Those fares were gone in a few days but I suspect rates will fluctuate dramatically. Norwegian is flying the 787, BA the 777. Those are big planes to fill so keep an eye out for sales.
Hi Sharon. I must be missing something..? I checked for random dates of Sept 12-20 for SFO to London and see about $560 roundtrip on United, BA, and American.
Unless I'm looking at it wrong, Bob, I thought the $560 round trip was for Economy with no flexibility to upgrade to Economy Plus. We absolutely need the extra leg room these days so would want to upgrade. If you book the flexible fair, the price virtually doubles. Am I seeing it wrong?
Wow - I am seeing flights BOS-LHR on British Airways in September at really good prices - premium economy for nearly the price I'd expect to pay for regular economy.
CORRECTION - I was looking at October dates (hey it's my Monday!) not September but the prices I am seeing may convince us to take a quick trip to London in October.
Well, I just did get reservations through United that were very reasonable. Great!
