I am flying from US to LHR.
Carry-on only
We fly in on British Airways and have a SEPARATE ticket to Paris same day. British Aiways, all terminal 5
When landing as SEPARATE tickets do I follow purple connections signs or go another route.

Normally, on separate tickets, you have to go through immigration, customs and security and check in for your second flight.
However, since you only have carry on bags, and IF you have the boarding passes for the second flight, you should first try to follow the purple connections signs and avoid immigration and customs all together.

Thank you. I thought this was the case but as I haven’t done a separate connection at LHR I was confused. We did it this way as it saved us $2400 even though with the same airline.

You will have to go through security between flights.
How long is it between flights.
Does BA sell your flights as a single ticket, just at a higher price?
