We'll be spending a week in the Cotswolds and would like a car for 4-5 days. Any ideas where I could rent one locally. Got one in Oxford before.

Not sure where you’ll be before or after the Cotswolds, but I’ll mention the obvious that Heathrow is only 2.5 hours from it. Plenty of agencies to rent from there.

Oxford is still good.
Depending on where you will be before, Heathrow, Bristol, Bath, Worcester, Cheltenham, Birmingham airport are also good...
Few if any locations within the villages of the Cotswolds.

We're staying near Stow on Wold. Were in Kingham is '19 and rented a car in Oxford. Thought maybe I could find someplace closer. Have a ride w/ friends from London, but there will be 7 of us and a second car would be useful.

I would get one wherever you are starting from - the bigger the place the better to give more options. Heathrow would make the most sense

Not if you are coming off a transatlantic flight and likely to be jet lagged. Driving around Heathrow is always busy and fretty fraught at the best of times.

We are going in May. We had a hard time finding an automatic car in Oxford or Bath and decided to do partly public transportation and partly hire a private driver who lives in the Cotswolds.
