favourite Peak District walks

We will be in the Peak District for a week in May and am having trouble deciding on walks there. So far for sure only Mam Tor from Hope over the Great Ridge and then through Cave Dale and the Limestone Way onto Castleton. We are experienced walkers and like the 5 - 8 mile length of walk. Also, tips on great walker's pubs are always welcome!

There are so many it's hard to pick, but my favourite 3 would be Stanage Edge which you can do in a 7 or 8-mile loop from Hathersage (where there a couple of decend pubs, most notably The Plough), the Great Ridge (I'd go as far as Lose Hill) and a loop round Wetton to take in Thor's Cave. Dovedale is beautiful and recommended too, but avoid weekens and Bank Holidays.

You will come close to stepping on my toes...
The Cheshire Cheese at Hope is excellent...we often have family meals there .
The Barrel at Bretton ,also high on my list of favourite s.
Food is great, the fire mostly lit and it's Derbyshire highest pub so views ain't half bad too.
The Red Lion at Litton ,I think still has live music but certainly good food
Yorkshire Bridge in at Ladybower is handy for the Upper Derwent valley if you head that way.
A little further away the Beehive at Coombs is our normal family favourite..
Padley Gorge is nice ,takes you up to the Toads mouth and onwards to Carl Wark.
You can return them to Hathersage.
Depending where you are staying there's a Derbyshire Wayfarer ticket
which gives full day travel on all buses and trains in Derbyshire for about £12 a day.Needs to be bought before travel, the tourist info centres have them.
BlueJohn Cavern is well worth doing as you drop down from Mam Tor.
Edale.
The walkers village and start of the Pennine Way .
The tourist info do a small paperback if 10 walks round the valley, a must isup Grindsbrook,at the top where the stream splits in two, the right hand one gives some good scrambling,I have dragged my cousin's 7 year up it.
Then return via Grindslows Knoll or the edge path eastwards to Ringing Rodger.
The big walk is over to Kinder Downfall and back,it's approx an 8 mile round trip from the village.
The Nags Head is the more historical and charactorful pub but the food is better at the Rambler, an Edale pub crawl.
Longnor ,south of Buxton is a favourite village with nice valley walking and the great Royal Oak pub is not far off ( pre-book)
