We will be in London in less than two weeks and are looking for a pub that we can visit near our hotel. Thank you!
I’m 99% sure that my London friend took me to St George’s Tavern. It was quite fine. Decent ales and he had a couple of cocktails. I’ll message him when he wakes up, he has to use Victoria Station to get back to his flat.

Of course, you’re not limited to just pubs in the immediate area. But, it should serve fine if you’re in the area. It’s not a late night place, so don’t be thinking Manhattan style nightlife there.
Most are now Gastropubs.
Try the Plumbers Arms for a bit of a more traditional feel.
The Jugged Hare is a traditional brewery owned pub in an old bank building.
We tend to go to pubs for meals rather than just to have a drink--though a good beer is important to my husband. We enjoyed The Star Tavern at 6 Belgrave Mews W. The "west" is important since there's a Belgrave Mews for each cardinal direction and we wandered a bit before we found the right one.
The Prince of Wales on Wilton Road is a friendly traditional pub about five minutes walk from the station.
The Windsor Castle pub on Francis St is a nice Sam Smith’s pub. The Constitution on Churton St and The Marquis of Westminster on Belgrave Rd are nice pubs
Try The Speaker on Great Peter Street or The Sanctuary House. Also The Buckingham on Petty France. The Windsor Castle is a nice enough pub but it's Sam Smiths so the beer is rubbish (though cheap)
The Queens Arms 11 Warwick Way was our favorite. We thought the food was outstanding. We aren't really beer drinkers though so I can't recommend the beer one way or another. I did try a local brew they had on tap though and thought it was pretty good.
