Farm/Dairy Visits in Cotswolds

First off, apologies for starting yet another Cotswolds thread. My girlfriend and I are walking the Cotswold Way the first week of June. We're going south to north, so finishing in Chipping Campden. We're then renting a car to explore the Cotswold a bit more.

Can anyone recommend good places to taste and purchase local cheese or other products? A working dairy and/or cheesemaker that does tours would be ideal. I've emailed Simon Weaver without a response. I've also already booked a tour at the Coltswolds Distillery, so trying to balance things out and keep the gf happy.

Thanks in advance.

In case you're contemplating bringing cheese or other food items home with you, please consider these regulations.

I believe there is also a question on the immigration/customs form to enter the US that asks if you have visited a farm or been in contact with farm animals while abroad. I've heard of people being pulled aside and required to scrub their shoes if they answered "yes."

Not to say you shouldn't visit a farm or cheesemaker; just be aware.

Whilst not a farm or dairy you really shouldn't turn down an opportunity to visit The Cotswold Cheese Co. https://www.cotswoldcheese.com

I can also recommend the Kashmiri Chutney or the Sweet Garlic Pickle to go alongside any of the cheese (and almost half the shop) that you'll inevitably end up buying.

And whilst I'm slightly biased, I absolutely insist that you buy, or at least try, some Old Winchester. A fantastic hard cheese, almost parmesan in texture but without the strength and pungency. My 14 year old devours it like it's his last meal on Earth! Fortunately it's made local to us so we don't have to trek all the way to The Cotswolds to buy some.
