Exploring Somerset from Bath via Bus?

My wife and I have visited Bath in the past and would love to go back to see more of that area. Is it possible to visit some of the smaller more scenic villages using the bus/coach system? How about journeying to the Cotswolds? There is no chance we will be driving ourselves so that leaves public transit as our only hope.

Any help is appreciated!

Going down into North Somerset is relatively easy with First Bus- this is their route map (see bottom left, but note that the Mendip Explorer on the map is now #376 rather than a named service).
And this is their website for timetables
To go deeper into Somerset than the Mendips look at the First Bus Somerset website.

But you may find exploring that far into Somerset easier by taking a train from Bath to Taunton (one way or both ways), then changing to bus.

The Cotswolds by bus from Bath are much harder. The sensible alternative there is to take one of several tour companies.

The Cotswolds has very limited train access and fairly average bus access via a rural network. Going yourself without a car is a challenge so either pick one place or don't go
