Even more Tube strikes this month

Previously reported were the rolling strikes by RMT drivers and staff on the Underground.

Now the other drivers, ASLEF, have added two more logs to the fire.

The train drivers union, Aslef (Associated Society of Locomotive Engineers and Firemen), declared that it is to stage walkouts on Wednesday 26 July and Friday 28 July.

Strikes had already been announced by the RMT union, representing different grades and sections of Tube staff, on Sunday 23 July, Tuesday 25, Wednesday 26, Thursday 27 and Friday 28 July.

So in one form or another the following days will be affected by strike action on the Tube

July 23 - RMT

July 25 - RMT

July 26 - Both unions, ASLEF and RMT

July 27 - RMT

July 28 - Both unions, ASLEF and RMT

Check before travel and be ready with a Plan B.

Thank you for this information! What is the best website/app to check for current information on the strikes and transport impact once we're there?

@Partyoffive- keep an eye on this page- top right is a box to choose the date- https://tfl.gov.uk/tube-dlr-overground/status/

The double strike dates on the 26th and 28th will be the worst- a near total system shut down can be anticipated. Likely significantly reduced services on the other 3 days.

This will probably affect the Piccadilly Line from Heathrow, but should not affect the Elizabeth line which is a National Rail service, but CHECK that before travelling.

Thank you for the information. Granddaughter is arriving from Paris (Eurostar) on July 28th and will need to get to her accommodation. I’ll let her know and give her the link to check closer the 28th.

Thank you @isn31c. We can probably figure out some walking/Tube routes to deal with the 25th (does the Thames Clipper run during a double strike?), but the 26th is the day we'll be leaving our Premier Inn, Aldgate, hotel and had planned to take the Tube to St. Pancras station to take the Eurostar to Paris.

Would people who have experienced these types of transport strikes recommend booking private transportation to St. Pancras in advance? Or should we just leave extra early and try to find Tube lines that might remain open during this? Our hotel might be able to assist us as well, I suppose. Since we have 5 people and luggage, I'm concerned about getting a big enough vehicle, but we could take two private transports.

The Thames Clipper is a private boat service, so totally unaffected by the strike.
The way I would personally get to St Pancras in such a situation is to catch bus #205 from the stop at the end of Leman Street, bound for Paddington.
It Stops outside St Pancras.
I read that there are 5 of you, with luggage.
Thus, rather than try to find a valid Tube route on the day, I think just default to a car service of some description - taxi or ride share or private hire.
But the 205 is the normal default for the lightly laden.
