Eurostar & railpass activation

Hi. I have 2 questions.

1) Just purchased Eurostar tickets from the Belgian railway website. However, it automatically chose seats for us which we don't like. The tickets are not refundable and I can't change seats on that site or Eurostar's. What remedies, if any, do I have to change seats?

2) Purchased Brit Rail passes. Does anyone know if they can be activated at Heathrow Airport? We would like to use the pass on the Heathrow Express.

I expect your only remedy for the Eurostar seat assignment is to ask at the train station before boarding, to ask another passenger to trade with you, or to take a seat that's empty after boarding is finished.

In order to start using your BritRail Pass, get it activated by staff at the Heathrow Express ticket counter.
