Eurostar from London to Amsterdam Luggage

I'm planning to take Eurostar from London to Amsterdam. I already have the ticket. My question is in regard to luggage. My suitcase fits their measurements (under 85 cm) but it clearly will not fit in overhead rack. Eurostar website indicates that there are dedicated luggage storage areas in each train car to accommodate suitcases. My question is: has anyone had experience using Eurostar's dedicated storage areas and is there enough space on each car to handle the volume of luggage? Thank you.

It gets tight, and sometimes you have to put bags on another car...

Try to be among the first to board your car. That is not always easy to do because they play a little game in London of which ramp opens first...

Best idea: pack lighter, in two bags that could fit in the upper rack.

Your question is impossible to answer because it depends on when you're traveling, who else is on the train and how much luggage they bring. This is true of every train in Europe.

Pamela, here is my suggestion to you after taking the Eurostar from London to Paris this past March.

Be at the front of the line for the escalators or elevators to the platform at St. Pancras station. When boarding opens, keep moving and find your car. After boarding, immediately put your bag in the luggage racks. Don't hesitate. They fill quickly. After you find your seat you can always go back to the luggage racks and check on your bag. Don't be alarmed if someone has moved your bag within the storage area to allow more bags to fit. Sometimes it's like a game of Tetris.
