I will have euros in hand on arrival to UK via Heathrow. Where is the best place to exchange them to pounds for travel in Scotland/London?
There is a kiosk at the airport, but the rates are not favorable to you. Using a bank-owned atm would be the best source of GBP.
Do you have any friends traveling who would buy the Euros from you?
Have a great trip,
Pat
If you think you or a friend or family member would use the euros in next few years and your budget permits, I would just take the euros home. Get pounds from an ATM when you arrive in UK.
Unless you have loads, I just wouldn't bother. If you really need to exchange then either look for a UK post office, or exchange prior to leaving the country you've started in.
The exchange desks at the airport offer very poor rates of exchange. You are much better exchanging them at a post office or any high street travel agent.
Surprisingly there is a bank across from the Ritz in London that is open on Sunday, they might be able to help. Otherwise most Marks & Sparks stores have a currency exchange counter.
Thanks, all this info is very helpful
I would keep the €s for my next trip which is what I do unless you never plan to return to Europe and visit a European country whose currency is the €. The best place to get £s with your debit card is a bank ATM.
