Planning a spring trip with the family,Wife and 5 kids, to go to London and Paris. I know right! The tickets are 1/2 price if we drive up to Calgary and catch a direct flight out of Calgary. As a US citizen is there any concerns I should have flying across the pond out of Canada?
Thanks
Rich
As long as all of your passports are in order you should be good to go.
I live right on the US-Canadian border, and I vastly prefer to fly out of Toronto. No problems at all.
Why should it be problem? I could fly from one country (not mine) to another (not mine) and many times did and never experienced any problem.
melin,
As the others have mentioned, there should be no issues as long as all the Passports are in order. Be sure to check the expiry dates to ensure that the Passports will have at least three months remaining at the end of your trip.
Calgary / YYC is a good airport for flights to Europe (I've used it a lot over the last few years). One concern might be the cost of parking your vehicle for the duration of your trip.
Where are you driving from? Will your trip to Calgary require an overnight hotel stay at either end of the trip?
I was also thinking of parking . We have used both Park to go and Park and Jet with no problems. Melinhead you may want to book this ahead of time on-line, depending on when you are going. The parking can fill up at peak seasons like spring break etc. Also I believe there is quite a discount if you book on-line. Will be even better with your dollar right now!
Thanks for all the replies. I am saving over $4000 by driving the 8 hrs up to Calgary, I think that parking and hotels are still going to have me way ahead over flying from home in Montana. Plus who doesn't want to see Calgary in April anyway? Happy Travels!!
