Eton or Windsor?

We will visit Windsor Castle in early September. With about 3-4 hours to spend after the castle tour, would Windsor or Eton be a better choice for a short visit? Which might be more significant or uniquely interesting for a U.S. visitor, in terms of scenery, history, restaurants, perhaps popular pubs, etc?

3-4 hours is a lot of time to walk around both Windsor as well as Eton. I enjoyed Eton slightly more than Windsor because Windsor was very busy. Unfortunately I was not there at the right time to visit the Eton museum. I also enjoyed a boat ride on the Thames (French brothers), so see if you can fit it into your schedule.

I'm not sure if I can be much help with the food though, because I bought a Scotch egg from an Eton bakery and had a picnic in one of the parks.

Have a great trip!

To the right of the chancel is the royal pew with the two thrones being given by Princes Augusta, the daughter of George III who regularly worshipped here,
