We are planning to rent a car in York, travel through the Moors, Dales, and then on to Keswick in the Lake District. Our plan was to rent from Enterprise because we can drop off the car in Penrith before heading on by train to Edinburgh. The Enterprise drop off location in Penrith is at a Peugeot dealership which appears to be within a mile of the train station. Has anybody ever dropped off at this location and if so, how did you get to the train station from there? Not sure if it is close enough to walk, how easy it would be to get a taxi, etc.

Ask Enterprise and they may well take to you the station. If not, they'll know of local taxis.

My husband and I have done this several times with Enterprise. They have picked us up prior to our rental and driven us to the station after. Never hurts to ask.

My husband and I dropped off a car there three years ago. They drove us to the train station.

That's what Enterprise is known for! We usually use them because of their pick up / drop off policy...been using them in England since the 90s.
