Itinerary
Days 1,2,3 London
Day 4 Cotswolds
Day 5,6,7 Liverpool
Day 8,9 Lake District
Day 10 to Manchester to fly to Ireland
Ok, so I am just writing here to see if you have any suggestions as far as getting around. For the first time, I am traveling with my family- a total of 4 people. Originally, I was trying to do things mostly by train, with the exception of renting a car for the Cotswolds, and a car from Liverpool to the Lake District and back to Manchester. What I am seeing from other sites, is that for a family of 4- train journeys won't save much money or time, and that I should look at just renting a car from London- Liverpool. And then rent again to get us from Liverpool to the Lake District and back to Manchester. I really loved taking the train, but if it really makes more sense to drive.... then I guess I will have to adapt. Does this ring true for all of you? Best car rental company to use? Book in advance or when we are leaving from Heathrow? If I do decide to book a train, I know it's best not to book too far ahead, or last minute- so when is the best window? Thank you all for your help
