If you haven’t seen this already, there is now a joined-up coastal path for England. Obviously the SW peninsula has had this for years but now you can go anywhere on the coast of England, turn right or left, and walk along the sea. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cy0dxexdd8xo?app-referrer=search
Currently it is about 80% complete, with the rest in construction.
Cumbria (or Westmorland and Furness to be exact) is one of the disjoint sections, plus (in Cumberland) the closed section at St Bees due to a cliff collapse.
At St Bees we have a problem of people thinking the path closed signs don't apply to them because the computer files haven't been updated.
Also the unsatisfactory situation at Muncaster where there is the choice of a dangerous road walk or fording a river with quicksands. The talk is of building a bridge, but no money to do so.
