It will still require a change of trains at Paddington, so you won't be able to ride it directly from LHR to the city, FYI

...and I believe it uses the existing rail lines from LHR to Paddington, so not new...just rebranded for that portion, the same line the Heathrow Express uses. Though from Paddington to Abbey Wood is all new I believe.

I believe the connections to the Underground from the Elizabeth Line platforms are worse than that taking one of the two existing services into Paddington

This topic was covered in some detail on a post last week. Trains won’t be stopping at Bond Street initially. It’s only a partial opening.

One of the exciting points about this new line is that the fare counts towards the daily pay as you go cap. From zone 6 (Heathrow) to zone 1 (Paddington) that cap is currently £14.10.

If you’re coming in to central London and traveling around for the day then it makes sense to take the Elizabeth line. I’m hoping it will be more comfortable than the tube (larger carriages) and faster.
