We are scheduled to fly into Heathrow the beginning of July, then on to Edinburgh. I'm worried about how the potential ban of electronics in the main cabin will affect our plans. Anyone else got the same worries? I read today on a BA forum today, May 14, up to 1/3 of flights might be cancelled.
Until:
a) There actually is a ban on electronics
b) BA themselves announce cancellations for whatever reason
then:
There is nothing to worry about.
I will adjust as needed before my next flight to London.
Keep Calm and Carry On.
What is your worry? If there is a ban, put your electronic device(s) in your carry-on and stow it above the seats. Or, put it in your checked baggage.
Personally, I love the idea of no laptop-use on planes (but, then, I also loathe public cell phone use!).
@Leslie - I don't think you understand the issue. It's not a ban on the USE of larger portable electronics on the plane, it is a ban on taking them into the cabin AT ALL. And, as the airlines are so fond of telling people, it is unwise to put valuables, especially cameras and electronics, in your checked luggage.
I understand the ban. I agree with it.
I talked to American Airlines yesterday about my flight from Heathrow in September, they said that Heathrow isn't included in the ban. Will just have to wait to see if that's correct or not.
Heathrow is not included in the current ban which includes selected Muslim countries.
Since no one knows what or even if there will be an increased ban, no one can answer the questions at this time.
