Nelson's Butchers in Red Lion Square sells very good Melton Mowbray pork pies (good for a picnic lunch).
The other place you might like to try is the George Inn which is a very old coaching Inn, with a lot of history and character. I've not
had a meal there but the family say it is very good. They also servean afternoon tea. Even if you don't eat there, it is worth going inor a coffee just for the atmosphere and ambience.
