Eating in Bath/Bristol

I would like to ask your opinion on what are the best spots for brunch and lunch in both Bath and Bristol that would not be touristry or expensive.
Thank you!

Both Bath and Bristol are crammed with excellent restaurants of all types. Just take a look at TripAdvisor or do any sort of search and decide the type of cost, food and ambience you are looking for. Bath has lots of tourists, but I have never been in a restaurant there that I thought especially touristy. For example, the Browns restaurant in the centre of Bath is very much like the other branches of Browns that I have been in.

Overseas tourists are less noticeable in Bristol, which is a much larger city than Bath, and so you have to think about which part of Bristol you are visiting. Some of the most fashionable restaurants are in small suburban streets and have to be sought out. Tapas and small plate menus of all types of cuisine are currently popular in Bristol, and the small restaurants in shipping containers by the "M" Shed musuem on thne harbourside also get lots of good reviews. But are they the sort of place you are looking for? And what do you consider expensive?

What is your idea of brunch? It is less of an event generally in England, but many restaurants open in the morning and serve a breakfast menu with a multitude of options.

Boston Tea Party is a small chain of cafes with several locations in Bristol and Bath. I haven't eaten at one since I lived in Bristol 12 years ago, but I remember them being pretty good back then, and they've been expanding rapidly, so they must be doing something right. Their menu has a good range of brunch and lunch type dishes, and their prices (most main dishes in the 7-10 pound range) are pretty typical of what you can expect to pay at most not-too-fancy places.
