Staying in London the last week of June, there is a tennis tournament in Eastbourne I’d like to go to (backup if I don’t get Wimbledon tickets) Google says it’s about 2-2-5 hours each way. Anyone have firsthand experience with this route? Thanks I’m advance.
I go fairly often …the trains depart from Victoria. Try not to choose to travel on a Sunday as they’re a bit more likely to be cancelled/delayed. Regular weekdays should be ok. Go first thing and back again in the evening. Very doable.
I'm assuming you are talking about the Rothesay International Eastbourne, June 18-25?
Have you thought about getting the train?
There is a very regular service from London Victoria to Eastbourne and it takes about 90 minutes. The railway station is about a mile to Devonshire Park where the tournament is played. Either walk or get a taxi.
Buy train tickets in advance for the best deals. Choosing your train time can save quite a bit of money. BUT the really cheap deals do sell out quickly.
Looking at ticket sales, Centre Court and Court 1 only have a limited number of tickets left. If you want one of these courts, you will need to make up your mind quickly otherwise you may find you are out of luck. (Quite a lot of tickerts will have been taken by people with tickets from 2020 and 2021...) There seem to be plenty of tickets available for Court 2 and also general ground tickets.

I got a center court ticket for Friday!!! Thank y’all so much.
Wrap up warm. Even on the loveliest summer day, the Eastbourne tennis tournament is known for stiff sea breezes.
And have a great time. It’s a very nice tournament - all the big names but no Wimbledon-style queue.
