I'm planning to visit Tower Hamlets Cemetery on Monday, May 25. Can someone please guide me to the easiest route there from the Lambeth North Tube station? Thank you!
Probably Bakerloo Line to Oxford Circus then Central Line to Mile End. From there it’s an 8 minute walk. Total journey time about 45 minutes.
You can pay using contactless card or phone.
Get the CityMapper App which explains all the options.
City Mapper App
Put this on your phone. It is a huge help in navigating London and many other major cities worldwide. You can use it to look up this information in advance from home (switch to London in settings) and use it for real time information on your trip.
I know this isn’t a direct answer to your question, but it is better to know how to navigate anywhere in London by yourself than to have to ask others for specific trips. Sort of the teach a man to fish theory……
Thanks very much--I have just downloaded City Mapper. Appreciate the help!
This is Deja vu from a long and abandoned bus ride last year, if I remember correctly.
I would do the Bakerloo line to Embankment then the District line to Mile End.
However I can't help but feel it may be faster to walk to Waterloo (depending how close you are to Lambeth North), take the Jubilee line to West Ham then the District Line 3 stops back towards Central London to Mile End (it's the west end of the District west of Earl 's Court which is closed).
I hope you make it this year.
You might be thinking of a couple of years ago, when I ended up at no cemetery at all for that trip.
Waterloo is very close to where I am staying (which is across from the Imperial War Museum). Thank you very much for your help!
you could just use the Transport for London journey planner which will calculate various combinations of modes and uses live feeds in case of disruption, so if you ask for a NOW response as you begin it will tell you the best options based on what is actually happening.
currently showing Central Line severe delays!
Thanks! I have used that one in the past. I should shut off the cycle options because there is no way I'll ever be brave enough to ride a bike in London. I don't even do it here at home!
