Early Check In

Looking for recommendations for lodging in London that offers "Early Check In" (with or without additional fee). It will be just my husband and I traveling. I like where Number 63 and The Belgrave are located.

Bit confused as The Belgrave is no where near 63 Bayswater. Two different neighborhoods.

Belgrave is in Pimlico. 63 Bayswater is in Paddington.

Which neighborhood is your preference?

Any lodging will allow early check in for a fee..... You rent the room for the night before and then make sure they know that you will be checking in during the early morning.

If you absolutely have to have an earlier check-in, then you reserve the night before. Most of the time when we arrive late morning we have been able to check-in. Has been a couple of times when we had to leave the luggage and return around 3 pm but that has been rare for us.

You are more likely to be able to check-in early in a really large hotel, because small hotels aren't likely to be sure that any of their rooms will be vacated and cleaned by the time you want it. A huge hotel might have a few.

Depends on how early, early is. 9am check in rather than 3pm will generally have a fee involved. 1:30pm most likely won’t. We’ve been lucky and have been able to check in around noon without a fee on a few occasions at the Radisson Blu Edwardian Vanderbilt on Cromwell Rd. A lot depends on who is working and how full the hotel was the previous day. When we couldn’t check in early, we have been able to drop our bags and walk around town until we could check in. On our trip earlier this year, The Bailey’s, by the Gloucester tube stop, was going to charge a fee, then relented because of differing information provided by a couple different employees. It does offer early check in for a fee on its website for those who want it. In our case, the airline kept changing our flight departure time earlier, so we arrived in London more than two hours earlier than originally planned.

It varies a bit due to how busy they might be. During the pandemic, nearly every place we stayed had the room ready, once as early as 8 AM. As rooms fill, that won't happen. About all you can do is pick a place that appeals and ask. As someone mentioned, for the price of an extra night, you can make it happen, just inform them that you will arrive in the morning.

Besides that, also depends on the purpose for early check-in, if just to have a place for bags, nearly every hotel will accommodate you, even for some other services they may have some options.

Thanks everyone for your replies. My early check-in would be noon to 1:00. I have narrowed 4 different locations. So I can work with which ever lodging we select.
