Dulwich Picture Gallery

We plan to visit the Dulwich Picture Gallery in south London. I've checked transportation options and the National Rail station is nearby. Does the Oyster card get us a discount on National Rail when it's in the city? Is NR the best option to get there? Buses also stop nearby but I wasn't sure if a Tube-Bus option was convenient - too long perhaps?
thank you.

National Rail is a brand name for various franchised rail systems in different regions of the country. The nearest stations to Dulwich Picture Gallery are West Dulwich, served by South Eastern trains from Victoria, or North Dulwich, served by Southern trains from London Bridge. You can use Oyster cards on both routes, either Pay as You Go if you put cash on them or Travelcards if you buy those. North Dulwich is in Travelcard Zone 2 and West Dulwich in Zone 3.

Laurie, To make it a bit clearer. Oyster card *pay-as-you-go" cover all trains in Greater London, tube, DLR, tram and "National Rail" except Heathrow Express, and cover buses. It is not a discount, they completely cover it. Just "tap-in" and "tap-out" the same as you would on the tube.

If you have a Travelcard on your Oyster (not just credit) it depends on what zones you paid for.

My family lives in West Dulwich and we took the bus into downtown London, as well as the tube. Looks like the West Dulwich tube stop is walkable to the GAllery.
