Drummond Rooms Camden Town

Hello!
Three kids (23, 21 and 18 )are going to London for a week June of 2024. We've booked fairly inexpensive accommodations in Camden Town. It's on Drummond Rd. I can't find much information about this place. It's a five minute walk from Euston Train Station.
Has anyone stayed there or heard anything about this place? The reviews are all good, but there's so few reviews, it makes me wonder. The card won't be charged until May, but I know accommodations in June will be hard to find, so if I need to change I want to know sooner rather than later.
Does anyone have any experience with the Drummond Rooms?
Any information would be helpful!

It's Drummond Street in Camden. It's certainly in the borough of Camden, but not what I'd call Camden Town. That's a little walk away to Mornington Crescent, the High Street and Camden Lock.

It's a decent central London location. Handy for transport on the tube, trains and buses. It's not an area I think of as having tons of "character" but it's safe, quite bustling in the daytime, possibly quieter at night. There's quite a few decent authentic Indian restaurants around that way.

I have no knowledge of that hotel in particular, but it looks like a fairly average place on the lower end of the budget scale. Many on here are fans (PI cult holla) of the the Premier Inn chain of hotels They have locations at Euston and Kings Cross which are alternatives to look at in this area.

It’s a decent location. As Gerry says, it’s not Camden Town itself but the wider borough of Camden, which encompasses a big area just to the north of central London. Euston is an excellent transport hub, for tubes, trains and buses, and nearby Euston Square station is good for Circle & District lines.

You’ll be just to the north of forum favourite location Bloomsbury and Tottenham Court Road nearby has food shops etc.

I don’t know the hotel. I suspect it’s at the budget end of the market in that location but it’s perfectly safe. I know the street well as I used to stay at the nearby Regents Park Melia for work a lot, and would walk to and from Euston that way.

As Gerry says, mostly known for several good vegetarian Indian buffet restaurants. Many is the meal I’ve had there while avoiding the rush hour at Euston.

If you want to go to Camden Town itself for the markets, it’s a couple of stops north on the tube or an easy bus ride - or a walk.

So: location, fine. Not glamorous but perfectly safe and well-located. Don’t know the hotel itself.

ETA: I’ve just realised I’ve added absolutely nothing of value to what Gerry said. But at least there’s some reassurance there.

Is it just the three young adults going? I guess you’re looking for a room for three adults, which would rule out Premier Inns (which aren’t even really budget hotels any more). I’m sure it’ll be fine as long as they’re not expecting bells and whistles and air conditioning.

As these are young adults, have they looked at a YHA in Central London- people thing of YHA (Youth Hostels) as being dorm rooms in rural locations. Neither is now true- they have central London locations (admittedly none near Camden Town) and private rooms. They take 3 in a room (indeed up to 6 in some cases).

Thank you, everyone, for your replies. It sounds like Drummond Rooms are a decent place to stay. We'll be mostly around London and doing lots of day trips, so this seems like a decent place given our budget.
Thanks again. 😀
