We have the laminated Borch UK paper map. We also use a GPS and have google maps of the area downloaded for offline use.

Will you have a sat nav (GPS) in the car?

I have an AA atlas in my cars - about £5 cost from many bookshops or larger supermarkets.
For walking, you can’t beat Ordnance Survey maps.
