What is considered appropriate dress for attending London theatres in summer? (Looking at West End) Any recommendations/guidance?
I have worn and seen plenty of people wearing jeans. No one seemed to care what I was wearing
anything you want - it's not a formal occasion - unless it's a first night with celebs
Just returned from London….the one night I went to the theatre people were dressed casually.
Thanks, all!
I just saw "Cock" with Jonathan Bailey and the dress was all over the place. Everything from really nice to jeans. Just wear what you will be comfortable in.
Just don't go undressed!
Seats in some of the older theatres can be very small and cramped, so wear something loose and comfy.
No need to dress up.
Also, take a bottle of water or juice with you in your bag.
To buy any type of a drink in a theatre bar is astronomical in price...that's if you even get near the bar before the interval is over.
Have fun in London!
Enjoy the cup of ice cream during an interval (intermission)!
We went to see Grease last Friday night in London.
People were dressed in all manners. From basic to nice. Most seemed to eat and drink their way through the performance.
