I am visiting a family member in England and helping her to downsize her home
does anyone know of any organization that will pick up donations (Books clothing, linen)
I am aware that this is not a travel related question, however any answer will be helpful - she lives in the Wembley/Sudbury area
British Heart Foundation are a great cause who do this: https://www.bhf.org.uk/shop/donating-goods/house-clearance-paid-search?gclid=CjwKCAjw2cTmBRAVEiwA8YMgzZeAlDgSG8Of5CDdCjhruHI53cuMf73LpXeuh4GGIJQzvFjUbqP3mxoCKowQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds
Most organisations will collect furniture and other large bulky items however for things like clothing, books etc there are literally thousands of collection points all over the country. They're usually found close to parades of shops, in pub car parks, church car parks, recycling centres etc. They're large metal bins where you can safely place the items that will protect them from the elements and also using a method that prevents people accessing them in order to steal (although some people are still stupid enough to try and get in there). Various charities supply the receptacles so you can choose which charity you would prefer to donate to.
