My daughter is in London by herself this week. She just got tickets to Wicked for tomorrow night and is trying to find a good place to eat dinner near the theater. Any recommendations?
The Apollo is on Shafesbury Avenue, which is the edge of Chinatown. Turn right on Wardour Street, then left on Gerrard Street.
There's a dumpling place called Dumpling's Legend.
It used to be Lee Ho Fook's, the restaurant mentioned by Warren Zevon in Werewolves Of London.
I think you mean the Apollo Victoria rather than the Apollo, so you may want to correct your title. The Apollo Victoria is close to Victoria Station. I don't have a suggestion in that neighborhood. There are a number of people who post on this board who like to stay in this neighborhood, so someone will likely come along with a recommendation.
Thanks for the heads up Laura:) and thanks for the recommendation Shawngbr.
I also should add that she (my daughter) had dinner at dishoom this evening on my recommendation found from this forum and she said it was by far the best Indian food she had ever had!
Dishoom. Oh yes! Glad the recommendation worked and she enjoyed the food.
Yes Claudia! Thanks again for the recommendation! My husband and I plan on trying it out in June when we're there:)
Kazan, in Wilton Road, is a few minutes walk away.

Il Posto on Vauxhall Bridge Road is a nice family run Italian and very close to the theatre.
Cheers

If you like pub food (as I do) the St George's Tavern is just down the end of Bridge Place around the back of Victoria Station.
I"ll second the recommendation for Il Posto. My wife and I had a fan-friggin-tastic dinner there last September.
Thanks for all the great recommendations:). My daughter is actually on her last day in London and will fly home tomorrow. She had her 2nd meal at Dishoom today and really loved it! I sent her a link to this thread, but she hasn't told me if she took any of the other recommendations.
This is great info for all traveling to London!
