Dinner before or after a London show?

We're going to see two shows on two separate nights while we're in London. Both start at 7:30 p.m. One is at the Globe and one is near Victoria Station. Personal preferences aside, do people recommend having dinner before or after the shows? Both are on weeknights. My concern is about opening and closing times of restaurants in those areas. The play at the Globe will end maybe by 9:30, but the one near Victoria Station will possibly end by 10:30. I'm sure in a city as big as London we'll find decent places to eat in those areas after the shows, but then again, it's a weeknight, so maybe I'm not so sure. Advice? Thanks!

Google Maps can help. Plug in the street address of your theatre, then click on Nearby which will give access to a Restaurants button. Usually the restaurants that are shown in the vicinity include a link so you can see the menu, price range, hours, and often a reservations service. Neither the Globe nor the theatre at Victoria is likely to have as wide a range of dining choices as with the West End theatre district, but you can find something that is convenient, especially since you don't sound too picky about the cuisine.

If you find your theater in Google maps, you can use the "Near by" function to find restaurants in the vicinity. If you click on the restaurant on the map you will see the opening hours to the left.

We ate before. I don’t want to sit through a performance hungry and want to go to bed at a halfway decent hour so I can hit the ground running the next day.

I prefer to eat post-theatre and just have a light meal, but there aren’t too many restaurants open after 10.

Before. I don’t want to eat a full meal late at night and there are so many pre-theatre discounts.

London is a 24 hour city, but it isn’t NYC, you’re always better off eating early rather than late.

You will have a much wider choice if restaurants earlier on, which is what I would opt for.
