Hello All, saw another post about getting from Broadway to Snowshill. Will likely take train from London to Morton-in-Marsh. Would I need taxi to Snowshill or Broadway? Are there private cars to hire in that area? Are there grocery stores in Snowshill? I’m starting to think Snowshill may be difficult without a car to get food, supplies for couple days. But it is so charming! Any words of advice? Thank you in advance!
Have you looked at an aerial map of Snowshill? It is very small. Yes, it would be difficult to do much in the area without a car.
Ten miles with a taxi from Moreton-in-Marsh to Broadway? Sounds expensive. I bet there are buses you could take.
We stumbled upon Snowshill when we took a wrong turn on the Cotswold Way. It is a very picturesque small town, but I can't imagine spending much time there unless you are into hiking/walking. I think you need to do a lot more research about your plan.
Thanks for your help! Actually a couple days at a National Trust stone cottage in the Cotswolds soaking in that beautiful scenery is just my cup of tea! My concerns are about logistics mostly! Cheers!
Snowshill has no bus.
Broadway has buses from Moreton but the better service is the R4 from Evesham station- 2 stops further on towards Worcester. Every 2 hours Monday to Friday only- run by NN Cresswell.
Broadway also has the Pulhams bus 606 every two hours Monday to Saturday on its Chipping Campden to Cheltenham Spa service. Broadway is where you will get supplies, although Snowshill has a pub.
Note you would need another bus or taxi to get from Cheltenham Spa railway station to the bus station.
Thank you very kindly for your helpful information! Happy Travels!
Not only is Snowshill a tiny place it is also uphill from Broadway.
I'd plan on supplies from Broadway, or nearly adjacent to Moreton in Marsh station is a supermarket (Budgens the last time I drove by).
I was just thinking - the Cotswolds Robin book a ride bus is supposed to serve Snowshill from Moreton-in-Marsh although there is contradictory information on line, but worth the enquiry- https://www.gloucestershire.gov.uk/transport/the-robin/where-can-i-travel/cotswolds-north/
Thanks, everyone, for more helpful information!
