Days Out Guide 2For1 Discount?

My husband and I have to stay near Heathrow (due to flight times) next weekend but we'll heading into London all day on Saturday. I've been looking for ways to save on the major sites and just came across the "Days Out Guide" 2For1 and it sounds like it would be perfect. Is anyone familiar with this and have you been successful getting the discount? I'm also very confused when it comes to buying the train/metro tickets. It says you have to buy metro tickets (no oyster cards allowed) from a national rail station to be able to download the vouchers and I think a one day travel card zones 1-6 would work but how do I know what is officially a national rail station? After going to the National Rail site I'm still confused! We'll either be taking the Hatton or Heathrow station into London. Any advice would be appreciated!! :) Thanks!

I believe the closest NR Stations to Heathrow are Feltham and Hayes and Harlington. Take a taxi (no idea of cost) or bus (285 to Feltham or 140 to Hayes and Harlington), buy your Travelcards there and then use them to take the train into London. I would only do this if I were going to visit two sites that day because of time and effort.

Most of the museums in London are free to enter, so you wouldn't need to bother with discount vouchers if you plan to visit say, the British Museum and the National Gallery.
