Day trip from Canterbury to Leeds Castle

I'm meeting a tour the beginning of June 2024 where I will spend three nights in Canterbury and surrounding areas with them and have two days on my own before the tour. The tour will have me fully explore Canterbury, the white cliffs etc.
I was wondering about taking the train to Leeds Castle. I can figure out the train, but am stumped with how I would get a taxi or bus from the train station to the Castle itself.

What is the best way to do that?
And, would it be worth it for a one day trip?

I would be going on a Sunday and it says that the 2 pound bus ride from Ashford does not run on Sundays.

Thanks in advance.

Personally I would walk in from Hollingbourne station.

But if I was taking a taxi then I would change trains (from Canterbury West) at Ashford, take a train to Maidstone East, then taxi the much shorter distance from there.

Total journey time Canterbury to Maidstone 1 hour.

I stayed at Leeds Castle for 2 nights in June of 2022. We had a car but did take the train to and from Canterbury. If I recall correctly, Hollingbourne station is small, with no ticket office, and sometimes no workable ticket machine. Upon our return, no taxis were waiting at the station. We attempted to walk but got as far as the first pub. We ordered a taxi from the pub to take us the rest of the way to the Castle. It is too far to walk and the roads are busy. I loved Leeds Castle, but we got to experience the castle with no one else. Day trippers were gone and we could walk around the grounds at our Leisure. Sunday will be busy if the weather is fine. There are many things for young children to do so it attracts a lot of families. However, the castle is beautiful and has a wonderful history. It is worth visiting. Perhaps you could email the castle and see what taxi service they recommend and prebook.
