We had our hearts set on seeing the castle from Downton Abbey but after research found that it won't be open to the public when we are there. So looking for recommendations to other day trips for mid-April that you might have taken and if they are worth it.
(1) I heard there might be a tour to Blenheim Palace, Bampton and Bourton on the Water through Viator. They title this one Downton Abbey Village, Blenheim Palace and Cotswold Day Trip from London.
(2) I also heard that the Cotswolds are very pretty. I found one on Viator called Cotswold Small Group Tour from London that goes to Bourton on the water, Bibury and Burford. this is with Evan Evans Tour group.
(3) Then I found one more from Get Your Guide called Full Day Cotswold Tour w/optional lunch that goes to Burford, Bibury (with optional 2 course lunch at Swan Hotel) and Stow on the Wold. This is with Premium Tours.
