We plan to be in London in June and are looking for a tour that would help us travel from London to Paris via Eurostar and also provide some tour options like a bus or boat tour as a package deal. There are some old threads on the forum, but nothing current. In Rick's England guidebook, he recommends Britain Shrinkers, but the web address given gets me a privacy warning on any computer I use.
Anyone who has not upgraded their website to "https" will show up with a warning. Often that simply involves paying a fee to their service provider. I take these warnings with a grain of salt. If your credit card company is reasonably diligent, like Captial One, you might take the chance.
on a side note - a "day tour" from London is not the way to see Paris. It's exhausting, you'll spend more time on the train that you will actually seeing anything in Paris. If you want to really see Paris then spend at least a night there.
It's easy to do on your own, you don't need a tour.
Lots of companies do this. If you stay in any hotel in London there will be leaflets advertising trips.
I suggest you Google "Day trip London to Paris". But compare the prices to the cost of a Eurostar ticket bought in advance. You may be paying a lot for just a bus tour.

I agree Paris (like London) deserves many days to experience, but it is your time and money.
I am often a tour person, but on this trip? I would do it on my own. Book Eurostar well ahead for a good price, buy Metro tickets on the train going across. Take the Metro to Notre Dame area and if you want to do a Ho-Ho bus tour they all stop across the Seine from ND. I personally would just walk. Get a good map of Paris - I like the Streetwise Maps that are back in business as part of Michelin. You'll need Euro for Paris instead of Pounds.
I also agree that Paris is better done with an overnight. I am guessing since you are traveling in June you already have airline reservations in/out of London, otherwise I'd recommend flying open jaw - in to London and out of Paris.
I think the tour maybe a good value if the tour operator has access to discount tickets on the Eurostar based on on annual volume. Last minute tickets are very expensive. Prices for tomorrow are round trip $486 US (from the US Eurostar site), so if you see anything less than this equivalent price in GBP, its a deal.
I disagree that it's necessary to spend the night in Paris, if you just want to take a day trip. We've taken this day trip before and two to London from Paris. We enjoyed day trips in both cities. My suggestion is to not try to see it all. We know that we enjoy the 6th arrondissement, so we mostly stayed in that area. We arrived and had croissants and tea at Cafe de Flore, then walked to Jardin du Luxembourg, on the rue Bonaparte, stopping at Saint Sulpice to see the fountain. Lunch was at Rotisserie du Beaujolais, near Notre Dame. Later, we used our pre-purchased tickets to the Musee D'Orsay and walked in the Tuileries. We returned to Saint Germain des Pres and stopped at Les Deux Magots for a snack. Soon, it was time to head to Gare de Nord to catch the Eurostar back to London!
We will be taking the Eurostar to Paris when we go to London in March, and we only paid about $96 for a return ticket. What's expensive is staying overnight. The train costs more, and then there is the added expense of a hotel.
We took the Eurostar to Paris from London for the day and loved it!! Package came with a free boat ride on The Seine where you board right across from the Eiffel Tower. We arrived at Gare Du Nord, walked from there a few blocks, got on a bus to the Eiffel Tower, went up, had lunch, then walked across the street to the boats. Had a lovely boat ride- then walked the streets of Paris shopping, stopped at a cafe for drinks, and headed back to Gare Du Nord to return to London at 7 pm- a great day!!
Used www. Visitlondon.com to get the great package of tickets that included Eurostar rail, boat ride, and metro unlimited for the day in Paris-( they meet you at Pancras Station early am to give you your packet)
